PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Westbridge Film School has created this special 3D animation program for people who want to truly immerse themselves in the world of computer animation by studying in one of the most respected 3D animation schools in the world.
This unique intensive one year and a half year program will teach you all the techniques for successful 3D modeling, animation, character development, texturing, rigging, kinematics, dynamics generation, program scripting and other important parts of believable 3D worlds creation. Furthermore, you will start using equipment that is seldom used in other animation schools, such as tracking hardware.
LIVE THE EXPERIENCE OF ANIMATING AT A 3D STUDIO
One of the most attractive aspects of this program is that you will actually be participating in the production of a feature animated film, and you will get credits in it. This means that by the time you complete your studies at WEFIS, you will already have enough experience and technical knowledge, as well as an animation portfolio to ring the doorbell at the most important animation studios.
On the other hand, people who get into this program must be fully committed to studying and working around the clock, as the feature they work in requires it. During your studies at WEFIS you will experience first-handedly life at 3D animation studio, as well as form life lasting friendships, gain incredible 3D and film creation experience, and we promise that you will be proud of your team's participation in the film when it is projected for the first time.
Obtain media exposure
Every feature film produced at WEFIS is submitted to international film festivals, so your work will also be exposed globally once the movie you participate in is screened around the world.
Because of the nature of this project we have a long list of candidates, but we can only select a group of 16 students each year. The basis of this selection depends on several factors such as time availability, commitment, timely submission of your application, and the contents of your application letter, which is carefully reviewed by our admissions department. WEFIS has an open admissions policy and does not discriminate on sex, race, religion nor any other basis.
PROGRAM OUTLINE
TERM 1
40 hours of lessons per week (Mon-Fri)
You will review the basic principles of animation such as timing, spacing, anticipation and follow-through by taking courses in life drawing, storyboarding and introductions to computer modeling that are applicable to all animation software.
TERM 2
20 hours of lessons and 20 hours of experience per week (Mon-Fri)
In the second term, you will begin to use Maya and Softimage (some the most advanced 3D programs) to learn advanced modeling, texturing, lighting and animation. You will be integrated in a team and begin to construct digital scenes for your group's feature film.
TERM 3
15 hours of lessons and 25 hours of experience per week (Mon-Fri)

Your team coordinator will help you and your team members progress through your scenes, contributing with his experience and resolving your questions directly as they happen.
TERM 4
10 hours of lessons and 30 hours of experience per week (Mon-Fri)
